Locs are hair that has matted either through free form or manually sectioned into small groups of hair to form a ropelike chain. The loc forms a barrier between the hair and the elements and protects the hair with their combined strength. Once the loc is mature the antenna is said to be formed at the end of the loc and therefore amplifies the signal of the wearer back to the ether.
