This is the one that you hear about the most as this is where your locs will spend the majority of their early life development. (The time before the mature) A characteristic of the teenage loc stage is the locs are very light in weight. The reason the locs are light in weight in comparison to a mature loc is because the budding that began in loc stage 3 continues in this stage and once it is complete this will mark the end of this stage in your loc development cycle. These buds are the weight in your locs that have them hang and flow and swing whenever you move your head but no worries we will get there. When you see your locs becoming frizzy and unruly that is an indication that you are in the teen age stage of loc development. This stage normally lasts 8-24 months of the loc development process.
